Description
This montage of barn quilts includes those around Lake View, Iowa, and the towns of Auburn, Lytton, Odebolt, and Wall Lake. Please also visit my other montages of barn quilts around Iowa in my Montages Collection.
Barn Quilts are often spotted on barns, corn cribs, and other farm out-buildings while driving the rural roads in Iowa and other states. They are usually 8 feet x 8 feet, and are colorfully painted.
This Barn Quilt project of Sac County, Iowa, was started in 2005 to enhance the architectural beauty of many of the barns, and express the diversity in the county. Each of the barn quilts have named patterns. The concept of barn quilts was started in Adams County, Ohio, in 2001 and since then these large works of art can be spotted in many more states.
These particular barns are primarily around Lake View, and other small towns in the area They are displaying their specially created barn quilts which are shown here on a State of Iowa background, and overlaid on an Iowa corn field.
This photo would make an amazing beach towel, throw pillow, jigsaw puzzle, shower curtain, coffee mug, or greeting card, in addition to office or home wall art, or any of the 25+ novelty possibilities.
