Description

This shows the underside of the eagle, looking from above him. This young Bald Eagle was gaining altitude, with his catch in his talons, after successfully fishing in the Des Moines River. Although this image was captured from above the eagle as I was on a bridge, he made a sharp turn as he was rising and I captured his underside, rather than his back. Photo taken on a cold, icy February day near Des Moines, Iowa.
